Roulette: one zero or two
This is the clearest example of table rules deciding everything. European roulette has thirty-seven pockets, meaning a single zero; American roulette has thirty-eight, because a double zero is added. Payouts are identical in both, so the extra pocket does not change the reward, only the chance. The result: a house edge of roughly 2.7% on the European wheel against nearly double that on the American one. Choosing the table matters more here than choosing the bet.

Blackjack: read the rules, not the name
Two tables carrying the same name can have different mathematics. What matters is the blackjack payout — the classic three to two is clearly better than six to five — the number of decks in the shoe, whether the dealer draws on a soft seventeen, and whether splitting and doubling are available. All of these appear in the table description before you join, and that is the only place worth looking for them.
Baccarat: a simple choice among three bets
In baccarat the decision reduces to three options. The banker bet carries the lowest house edge but pays a commission on wins. The player bet is marginally worse and commission-free. The tie bet looks most attractive because of its payout and is comfortably the most expensive of the three. It is one of very few games where the entire strategy fits in two sentences.
Electronic versions against a dealer table
Table games appear in two forms: electronic, where a random number generator decides, and streamed from a studio with a real dealer.
